Our Mission

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Tulsa Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our Approach

Tulsa Habitat for Humanity does not give away homes. Instead, we partner with hardworking families in our community to provide a path to homeownership. Through home sponsorships, individual donations, and volunteer work, we are able to build safe, quality, and beautiful homes and to offer affordable, no-to-low interest mortgages to families who complete our homeownership program. Habitat home-buyers invest in their home through "sweat equity":  working side-by-side with sponsors and volunteers on home builds, doing volunteer work, and completing an intensive series of courses including credit management, individualized debt counseling, money management, basic home repair, mortgages and lending process, escrow and taxes, and more.

All Are Welcome

Tulsa Habitat for Humanity has an open-door policy. All who believe everyone needs quality, affordable places to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions too often dividing people. In short, Tulsa Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
